While the full site is still in pre-launch (i.e. before the
Homework Help sections are complete) the Student Ambassador will be a Volunteer
Position. In these early days, responsibilities will include:
- Encouraging fellow students to use the site to earn some of their hours on-line,
and to search for Volunteer placements,
- Finding students to enter the local community service positions that are listed
with their Guidance Departments in a table we provide so that they can be viewed
easily by all students (note: both the Student Ambassador and the student entering
information would receive volunteer hours for this work.)
- Letting fellow students know about new site sections as they are introduced,
- Including the FMSS Volunteering or Win a Wii poster on their Facebook page (optional)
- Talking to local businesses about becoming a site sponsor (students successful at
raising funds this way will receive an honourarium commensurate to the success of
their efforts),
- etc.
Once the full site is ready for launch, teens will be hired to act as Student Ambassadors;
many of the first hires will be drawn from our group of Student Ambassadors. Their
primary function will continue to be to help to raise awareness for the ForMySchoolStuff.com
program at their schools. At this point the Student Ambassador will become a paid
position and each school will have a few Student Ambassadors. Some of their responsibilities
include:
- Acting as the liaison between their school and the ForMySchoolStuff.com staff
- Spreading word about the site and the various ways in which it can help students
- Updating the site with events and activities taking place at school
- Organizing and assisting in ForMySchoolStuff.com sponsored events
- Presenting ForMySchoolStuff.com awards
- … and more.
Students interested in becoming part of the Student Ambassador Program should send
an email to contactUs@ForMySchoolStuff.com.
