| Housing |
With over 5,000 students in single and
family residences, Guelph has one of the largest and
best established university housing systems in Canada.
In the buildings for single students, you will have
the opportunity to socialize in the lounges or study
in the quiet areas. You will have a telephone with voice-mail
in your room and easy access to laundry facilities,
a kitchenette and lounges for meeting and socializing.
Internet hook-ups are included in every room.
Living options include individual rooms, as well as
rooms shared by two, three or four students. Guelph
offers suite-style (apartment) living in East Residence,
where bathrooms and kitchen facilities are shared. First-year
students are normally housed in double or triple rooms,
but some single rooms are available, particularly in
South and East Residences. Your residence application
will give you the opportunity to apply for several different
buildings and room types and the university will do
its best to meet your preferences. If you have a special
need of a particular room type or location, you can
let them know about that need when you apply. Be sure
to read the special needs information in your residence
application information.
Accommodation costs for 2006-2007 ranged between $4,200
and $5,000 for two semesters, not including a meal plan
and depending on the residence assigned.
Residence application information will be sent to you
with your offer of admission, if an interest in residence
is indicated on the application form. The Residence
Admissions Office will provide you with the dates and
details you need. |
